How Local AI is used
AI suggests.
Routi decides what runs.
Local AI turns your words into a draft using Routi’s built-in rules. Routi checks every step against its own built-in actions, and nothing runs until you approve it.

Questions? Answers.
Does Routi upload my files?
No. Local AI reads file names and types right on your computer, and offline routines process files locally. Only routines with a Cloud AI step (Pro) send a file, to the provider you connect.
Which computers does Routi run on?
Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 12 or later, and Windows 10 or 11 PCs (64-bit). Local AI is built into Routi, so there’s nothing extra to turn on.
Can Routi delete my files?
Not outright. Routi can rename, move and copy files. Cleanup routines move files to the Trash, and you can restore any of them from Activity. Routi never empties the Trash.
Can I see what a routine changed?
Yes. Every run is saved to a local run history that shows exactly what changed, without storing the file contents.
How do I remove access to a folder?
Open Settings › Permissions in Routi and choose Remove. Routines that use the folder pause until you pick a new one. On a Mac, you can also manage access in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
Can Routi read my Telegram chats?
No. Routi only sees messages sent to the bot you made for it, and only acts on yours. Your other chats are never touched. Telegram keeps what you send the bot, so only send what you’d be fine storing there.
